Places of Power

Places of Power

Most of the known places of power in Poland are ancient centers of worship of pagan peoples, including the Slavs and Goths, who worshiped the elements, plants and animals. Sacred groves in particular were special places — designated forest areas where rituals were performed. In the early Middle Ages there must have been many such sites. Slavic culture, destroyed in the process of Christianization, now arouses more and more interest. Not since the Romantic era has it received as much attention as it does today.
